Synopsis:Programme looking at how remote sensing (satellite data) can be used to map geological features
Shotlist:This programme shows how the geology over large areas of the earth's surface is mapped from images from remote sensing satellites and used to focus the search for oil. It explains how the satellite images are produced and how computer image processing can be used to view the earth's surface in 3D to increase our understanding of geological structures.
