Synopsis:A film about the BOC's (Burmah Oil Company) seismic operations in Burmah
Shotlist:River Delta, fishermen, speed boat, seismic survey in marshy ground, explosion, small plane flying above. Taken through the wax making process, see paraffin wax being melted down and made into candles Drilling – see drill bit going down drilling workers looks dangerous Street scenes, shots of river and barge coming to pick up crude and take it back to Rangoon 100 miles up river is Mandalay. See festival of light – lots of shots of dancers, girl lights her paraffin lamp Barge with oil leaves in the dead of night (too dark to see it). Lots of shots of Burmah from the air in this film. We see seismic survey, laying dynamite, ox drawn cart pulls equipment through the marsh land. Men carrying the equipment through wet fields and carry out blast Observer comes out of his white hut and looks at the map which shows the results of the test Burmah Airways plane takes off lots of aerials over pagodas, temples, country side, more temples gold and glittering Boy in back of truck watches plane fly over more aerials of Burmah and clouds.
